Saving the Heritage

(It's a positif influence)

, tinggal nyeblokke aja tuh rumah hahahha). Amiin.

October 2nd : Batik Day

It's already the second day of October.
Yup, October 2nd is the Batik Day

Sidoasih (Yogyakarta Classic Batik)_private collection
The President of Republic of Indonesia with the Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 33 Tahun 2009 declare that  Oktober 2nd as Hari Batik Nasional (National Batik Day).

This declaration is based on  UNESCO decision on Fourth Session of The Intergovernmental Committee at Abu Dhabi in Oktober 2nd 2009.  Indonesia Batik  acknowledged as a Representatif List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

With this  internasional official acknowledgement to Batik Indonesia, beside increases positif publicity in  internasional forum also growing the love and pride of  Indonesian people to    Indonesia's culture it self.

A stack of my Batik Collection
After the declaration, now many people wear batik in every occasion, formal, informal, even leisure. In my office, we wear batik on Thursday and Friday.
And we proud of it.
 " I love Batik, I love Indonesia " ^^

Batik Placemat

Honestly, i never make placemat before ^^. It's because of yesterday, my mother asked me to sew some apron using an old bed sheet. The fabric was cotton batik called "Jumputan" because of the technique that  used was by bunching the fabric with a thread before it was colored. You can see the pattern (the green center spot with white lining), it is typical for Batik Jumputan.

Then I read the table-stitch-table-set-tablescape-contest! by Sew Mama Sew!
So I grab the chance and made one placemat using the bed sheet scrap. Here it is,

I hope this can inspiring you like I did.
"I proud wear Batik, because Batik is Indonesian National Heritage"
Mom, I'm ready for the soup :d

Gift for friend

This is what I usually do when I got a wedding invitation from my friend.
I will wrapped a gift with used-envelope, the bigger one. Finished with a ribbon or simple tagging.
Simple like that, but look different and special   \^0^/ .

Want to know what the gift is? Just sent me an invitation and you'll know. ^^

Batik Brooch

This idea came up when I getting bored with the ordinary brooch that I had. So, with the passion to our-Batik- heritage, i used the left over Batik fabrics to make my own brooch.

And this:
